Road Trip (nope!) Food Trip (YEP!!)

So far, we are making our priorities clear. Fresh fish along along the coast was a good start. Now we're looking up the nearest farmers market for every stop along the route. Food Tripping it is!!!

Lake Oswego Farmers Market. If the couple in front of me (who had to be the basis of the characters in Portlandia) had asked any more questions about Hummus ("Is it organic?" "Where are the beans grown?" ...), I might have completely lost it! Only in Portland can it take 5 minutes to order some Hummus and Pita.

Oregon berries and cherries! Nowhere are there better.

And we just found what might be the best market I've possibly ever been to. I recall being blown away the first time I walked into a Whole Foods (and then, in California, by Draeger's Market). I gotta say that Zupan's Market (www.zupans.com) in Lake Oswego, Oregon puts both to shame.

We've only tried one item so far, but the Briar Rose Maia cheese is epic. It's made in Oregon. If you like soft cheese and see this anywhere, order it! Just wow!

I gotta go cook!!!
